KGM range
By their configuration, the KGM battery is a type of alkaline nickel-cadmium battery with partial gas recombination. This range is upgraded to the low-maintenance version.
KGM batteries are critical where high reliability and long-term service life is required, as well as when they are operated in a harsh environment and at remote sites with constrained monitoring.
These batteries are intended as a backup power supply for control and lighting system in rolling stock, urban transport electric networks, metro trains, communication systems, and automatic phone stations, where the uninterrupted power supply is required.
The storage batteries of this range are used where mid-current discharges (1 C) and high capacity of the battery are needed.
These batteries feature all the advantages of the KGL range. They also provide long-term discharge rates with low currents (0,2 C), but, if needed, may be discharged with current (1 C) for a long time.
Therefore, it is recommended to use them as a power supply for an electric motor in electric transport. For instance, high currents may be needed when mining electric locomotive takes off with cars full of ore, or when loader takes a heavy cargo off the ground. In all these cases the battery of the KGM range is more effective than the battery of the KGL range.
Depending on the type of battery and customer’s requirement, the complete set may include
- Bars to connect cells
- Cables with fittings to connect battery banks (length as may be required), nuts and washers to fix bars and cables
- Spare valves
- Wrench to assemble the battery
The storage batteries can be supplied in containers.
