The nickel-iron battery of the FL range is having nickel oxide-hydroxide positive plates and iron negative plates.
The active materials are held in nickel-plated steel tubes or perforated pockets.
The technology has regained popularity for off-the-grid applications as a constant voltage supply for backup power supply.
Nickel–iron batteries do not have the lead, cadmium, and cobalt which require treatment as hazardous materials. That is why they found a wide recall in the EU.
The storage batteries of FL range are used in cases where long-term discharges with relatively low currents are needed (0,2 C).
Depending on the type of battery and customer’s requirement, the complete set may include
- Bars to connect cells
- Cables with fittings to connect battery banks (length as may be required), nuts and washers to fix bars and cables
- Spare valves
- Wrench to assemble the battery
The storage batteries can be supplied in containers.
